The administration of medicaments via nasal route is called as Nasya. Mostly indicated in diseases of Head and Neck, Psychiatric Disorders, Cervical Spondylosis, some Gynaecological diseases, etc.

What is the meaning of nasyam?

Nasyam means instillation of medicated oil or ghee through the nasal passage. The excess of toxins accumulated in the throat, nose and head is eliminated. Patient is asked to lie down on his/her back on a wooden cot and then the Nasyam is given.

What is nasyam treatment for?

Nasyam is an Ayurvedic treatment to cure headache or ENT related disorders such as sinusitis, migraine, ear, nose or throat. During this procedure, medicated powder or juice and herbal oils are applied through the nostrils.
